I want: put it into words
Some things you want simply don't exist yet — or nothing on the market fits. Write it down and post it to "Find ideas" to see how many others want the same thing. When enough people want it, chances are someone will build it.
How to post a request
- Click "Find ideas" in the top navigation
- Click "Post an idea / request" in the top right
- Choose type "I want"
- Write a one-line title — the input box hints "I want…"
- Add the use scenario and expected outcome in the description (required)
- Click "Post"
How to write it so someone will actually build it
| Nobody gets it | Makes you want to start | |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Build a tool | I want a tool that turns meeting recordings into a to-do list automatically |
| Scenario | I'm busy at work | I have 5 meetings a week and manually track who picked up what afterwards — very time-consuming |
| Expected | Make it nice to use | Upload a recording, get a list of "who / when / what they took on", ideally copyable into a document |
Three principles:
- Be specific: who uses it, when, and what problem it solves
- Don't guess the tech: no need to mention languages or frameworks — that's for the builder to decide
- Give an acceptance criterion: state clearly what counts as done
The clearer your request, the more likely someone will build it — because they won't have to guess what you mean.
What happens after you post
| What you'll see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Likes going up | More people want the same thing — it's not just you |
| Comments | People are adding scenarios and suggestions; use "Replies to me" to see them |
| The post hits "Trending" | More visibility, and a higher chance it gets built |
To find your own posts, filter like this:
- Switch the type to "I want"
- Switch the filter to "Mine" to see everything you've posted
- "I liked", "I commented" and "Replies to me" show your interaction history
When the request becomes real
If someone actually builds what you wanted, it will most likely show up in the app gallery. You can click "Use" to start using it directly; if the author allows remixing, you can also make a copy and keep improving it as your own.
